Clinic Operations Manager
The Health Information Management (HIM) specialist is responsible for daily support to all SVT Health and Wellness programs. H.I.M Specialist is responsible for maintaining health record indexes and storage and retrieval systems in both paper and electronic formats. H.I.M Specialist is responsible for ensuring that medical records documentation is complete according to SVT Health and Wellness policy, state and federal law. H.I.M Specialist is responsible for communicating with and disseminating information to internal and external sources, including requesting/releasing medical record information. H.I.M Specialist is responsible for ensuring security and confidentiality of all records according to SVT Health and Wellness policy, state and federal law.
H.I.M Specialist will assist in the coordination of scanning for SVT Health and Wellness programs including timely document reviews and audits orders and documentation related to patient safety H.I.M Specialist and continuity of care. H.I.M Specialist collects, interprets and analyzes data to produce the audit reports for the SVT Health and Wellness leadership team. H.I.M Specialist will work with the Revenue Cycle Team and the Performance Improvement Team to conduct medical record quality improvement activities.
H.I.M Specialist will collaborate with staff to obtain necessary information for EHR updates and/or file closure, including correcting deficiencies in documentation and communicating information to enhance quality outcomes. H.I.M Specialist will develop and conduct trainings as needed to include proper documentation techniques and the use of EHR. H.I.M Specialist consults with other departments and programs to problem-solve and develop improved health information management to ensure systems are in place to efficiently exceed all external regulations and internal procedures. H.I.M Specialist completes Release of Information requests, ensuring compliance with privacy and security standards.
Assist with demographic updates and Master Patient Index maintenance. Identify Duplicate Patient ID numbers and reconcile.
Other support duties as assigned.
1. High School diploma or GED.
2. One (1) year of experience in a job that works in health records or one (1) year of Information Technology experience preferred.
3. Certification in one (1) of the following AHIMA Accredited certification programs: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT); OR Certified Health Data Analyst (CHDA); OR Certified Documentation Improvement (CDIP) preferred
